Upon their initial meeting, Doug and Holley shared a common dream: to acquire land, nurture animals, and achieve self-sustainability. After a few years, they transformed this dream into reality by purchasing a house in Taylorsville, NC, complete with ample land. This led to the creation of Oasis Mini Farm, a venture aimed at cultivating organic fruits and vegetables, producing fresh eggs and honey, and crafting seasonal products from their harvest. The farm is actively evolving, having introduced chickens, guineas, alpacas, a mini donkey, and a pair of goats. Future plans include the addition of honey bees, more goats, additional mini donkeys, and a year-round vegetable garden to provide farm-to-fork offerings. In April 2023, three alpacas, a mini donkey, a mother, and son goat joined the existing 17 chickens and four guineas, each with its own name. July saw the arrival of Nibbles, another mini donkey, and remarkably, everyone coexists harmoniously.
